About Us: Jim Gibbon

Muirfield Consultants was founded by Jim and Susan Gibbon in 2019.

Initially targeting the O&G, Energy and Renewables segments, both in the UK and internationally, the core offerings are:

Commercial Contracting: Providing experienced deal leadership during Terms and Conditions and contract negotiations.

Commercial Process Development: Tailored to your business, developing the checks & balances needed, while maintaining speed, without introducing layers of bureaucracy.

M&A Integration: Providing support through the post-acquisition process, developing structures, identifying and driving synergies.

Business Change Mentoring: Supporting leaders through organisation challenges, including commercial training provision

Prior to founding Muirfield Consultants, Jim spent 18 years with a global leader in the Energy and O&G segments. Rising to Executive level, leading large commercial support and sales teams, including the challenge of leading large global teams with locations from China and South Korea to Brazil, Mexico and the U.S. In addition to commercial leadership, Jim has also led significant organisational change and integration programs, including the European commercial integration of one the largest ever Energy services acquisitions.

Academically, he holds an MBA from Dundee Business School.

A snapshot of key career achievement is as follows:

  • Owned & delivered $400M+ orders operating plan in Energy Services
  • Led a global team of 180 commercial managers across 5 business segments in the O&G sector
  • Led successful deal closures on nuclear technology ranging to $50M + in deal value
  • Developed an organisational structure for the full European commercial workforce of 400 employees across 15 European locations
  • Developed a full commercial process and training covering 180 employees and successfully led the roll out
  • Provided personal mentoring and coaching to several up-and-coming business leaders
  • Deep experience of customer negotiations on large contracts, including technical clarifications, price and terms and conditions – including LOGIC North Sea terms.
